It was an udderly freezing Autumn day in Bendigo as I strolled in the Groovin’ The Moo gates on Saturday, the first stop for regional Australia’s biggest music festival.
Phoneless and penniless after becoming a victim of theft the day prior, the odds of enjoying myself seemed heavily stacked against me. And yet, as it usually does, the music got the better of me (a few ciders offered a helping hand)
Highlights for me included the ever-serene Big Scary, watching the crowd surge and camera phones reach skyward at the sound of Matt Corby’s signature “ooh eee oooh’s”, the upbeat pop and humorous quips from rising act Ball Park Music, returning the chant of “hop” to Flava Flav’s “hip” and as ever, the infectious dance tunes of rambunctious boys Bluejuice.
Thanks GTM for lifting my spirits, I’ll see you again next year!

Here’s a few shots I took with my trusty 35mm Pentax around the South Yarra/Richmond area on a beautiful Autumn afternoon. Nothing too significant, but I think that’s what makes it work…

On Tuesday night I attended my sixth Last Dinosaurs show, a first at Brunswick’s Phoenix Public House, and as per usual was treated to the remarkable riffs and fresh vocals that keep me coming back
These Brisbane boys are about to blow-up with sell-out Aussie shows, extensive radio play, a killer UK signing and subsequent upcoming tour, filling their schedueles
Their debut album In A Million Years, home to gem singles “Zoom”, personal faves “Weekend” and “Sunday Night” and newy “Andy” skyrocketed to #2 upon release and has been hovering thereabouts ever since

Thanks to Sean, Lach, Sam and Dan for sparing time for a chat and dishing out yet another awesome night of tunes. Can’t wait to catch you guys for show #7!
A week or so back I caught Triple J Unearthed sweethearts Snakadaktal performing at the Northcote Social Club as part of their national tour. Their laid back melodies and charming boy/girl vocals, teamed with just the right amount of facial glitter, made for a super enjoyable gig and dreamy Friday evening…

Speaking to front-fellow Sean after the gig about their present national tour he said their big aim was to “…get a generator for the tour bus so [he] could master the FIFA game…” Champ!
